Hurling

After last weekend’s games the way is clear for the semi-finals of the Garvey’s SuperValu Kerry Co. Senior Hurling Championship [Corn Neilus Ó Floinn]. The draw for the pairings resulted in Causeway versus Ballyduff and Abbeydorney versus Kilmoyley. Both games will be played at Austin Stack Park, Tralee on the weekend of 5/6 September. For the record the following were the first round results: Ballyduff 1 – 20 Ballyheigue 0 – 15; Abbeydorney 1 – 18 Lixnaw 0 – 19; Kilmoyley 0 – 15 St. Brendan’s 0 – 12 and Causeway 0-14 Crotta 0-13. The Final is scheduled for the weekend of 19/20 September.

Intermediate

The quarter finals of the Co. Intermediate Hurling Championship [Corn Antóin Ó Murchú] went ahead last weekend. In the local South Kerry derby, Kilgarvan had a 2 – 13 to 1 – 13 win over Kenmare; 3 games on were played on Monday – Tralee Parnell’s 1 – 25 St. Brendan’s 2 – 10; Lixnaw 0 – 11 Kilmoyley 2 – 18; Dr. Crokes 3 – 21 Crotta O’Neill’s 0- 11.

Senior

Round 3 of the Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior Hurling Championship is due to go ahead on Monday next, 24 August. Fixtures are: Ballyduff v Causeway; Lixnaw v St. Brendan’s and Kilmoyley v Crotta. Check the North Kerry Hurling Facebook page for updates on match details.

Minor

The Keane’s SuperValu Co. Minor Hurling Championship is scheduled to commence on this weekend with the 4 quarter finals: On Friday, 21 August Abbeydorney play Crotta/Kilmoyley at Abbeydorney; Lixnaw meet St. Brendan’s at Lixnaw; and Ballyheigue are at home to Tralee Parnell’s. All games at 6.00p.m. The Ballyduff v Kenmare/Kilgarvan/Dr. Crokes game will go ahead at Ballyduff at 4.00p.m.on Saturday. Extra time if necessary and result on the day in all games.

Under 12

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 12 Hurling league result: Firies 6 – 6 South Kerry 4 – 10. Phase 2 fixtures for Friday, 21 August @ 7.00p.m. Group A – Kenmare v Tralee Parnell’s; Crotta O’Neill’s v Ballyduff. Group B – Kilgarvan v St. Brendan’s; Kilmoyley v Ballyheigue. Group C – Rathmore v Lixnaw; Abbeydorney v South Kerry; Firies v bye. Group D – Causeway v Tralee Parnell’s B; Crotta O’Neill’s B v Ballyheigue B.

Monday, 24 August @ 7.00p.m. Group C – Lixnaw v Firies; Rathmore v Abbeydorney; South Kerry v bye

Under 14

Phase 2 of the Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 14 hurling league is due to commence on this Saturday. Details will be on the North Kerry Hurling & Kerry Coiste na nÓg Facebook pages

Under 16

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 16 Championship Preliminary Round results: South Kerry 6 – 11 Tralee Parnell’s 4 – 5; Rathmore 2 – 12 Kenmare/Kilgarvan 0 – 9. The First Round of the Cup competition goes ahead on this Thursday, 20 August with all games at 6.30pm. Abbeydorney/Causeway v Crotta/Kilmoyley @ Abbeydorney; Rathmore v Lixnaw @ Rathmore; St. Brendan’s v Ballyheigue @ Ardfert and South Kerry v Ballyduff @ Kilcummin (5.45pm). Extra time if necessary in all games.
