Hurling

The highlight of the Kerry hurling year goes ahead on this Sunday, 20th September with the Final of the 2020 Garvey’s SuperValu County Senior Hurling Championship (Corn Neilus Ó Floinn) between current holders, Causeway and Kilmoyley. Venue is Austin Stack Park where there will be a 3.30p.m. throw in time. The game will be live streamed.

Intermediate

The curtain raiser will be the meeting of Tralee Parnells and Dr. Crokes, Killarney in the Final of the Co. Intermediate Hurling Championship [Corn Antaine Ó Murchú]. It will be a historic occasion for the Tralee side as they will be playing in this decider for the first time. Dr. Crokes will be aiming to win their third title having won it previously in 1999 & 2001. This game will get underway at 1.00p.m. and will also be live streamed.

 

Minor

Congratulations to Ballyduff on winning the Keane’s SuperValu Co. Minor hurling championship. They defeated Ballyheigue in last Saturday’s Final by 1 – 13 to 1 – 9. Corn Seán Loibhéad was presented by Tim Murphy, Cathaoirleach Coiste Contae Chiarraí, C.L.G., to the Ballyduff captain, Dylan Moriarty, while centre half back Kevin Goulding won the Player of the Match Award. This is Ballyduff’s 8th title [previous wins were in 1972, 1973, 1975, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2001 & 2003]

Junior

The County Junior Hurling Championship got underway on last Saturday when Ballyheigue had a 3 – 12 to 0- 5 home win over St. Pat’s East Kerry. Duagh will also be taking part in this competition which will be played on a league system with the top 2 teams to contest the Final.

Under 12

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 12 Hurling league Phase 2, Round 4 results: Group A – Ballyduff 5 – 6 Tralee Parnell’s 2 – 3; Group C – Lixnaw v Abbeydorney [postponed]; Firies 2 – 12 South Kerry 3 – 5.

Under 16

The Final of the Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 16 Championship between Lixnaw and Crotta/Kilmoyley did not go ahead last weekend as scheduled. In the Plate competition St. Brendan’s defeated Rathmore in the semi-final by 2 – 13 to 1 – 9 on Sunday at Rathmore. They will now play Tralee Parnells in the Final. Details of both these Finals will be posted on both the North Kerry Hurling and Coiste na nÓg Facebook pages as soon as available.
