KERRY GAA CELEBRATE BUSINESSMAN MAURICE REGAN
Kerry businessman Maurice Regan has been honoured and celebrated by Kerry GAA for his outstanding dedication and generous contribution to the county, clubs and wider community. The special event took place at The Brehon Hotel & Spa in Killarney on Wednesday evening, June 17th.
Amongst the guests were members of the county board, Kerry GAA stars & legends including Ogie Moran, Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper, Pat Spillane, Eoin ‘Bomber’ Liston and Darragh Ó Se as well as people from numerous organisations and businesses across the county.
Patrick O’Sullivan, Chairperson, Kerry GAA said, “We are so grateful to Maurice for his wonderful support and we are delighted to honour and recognise him for all he has done for the county. He has also given money to schools, clubs, charities and many others over the years.”
Maurice Regan is the founder and CEO of J.T. Magen & Company Inc., a premier commercial construction firm headquartered in New York City. Since its inception in 1992. Maurice has expanded the company’s reach across the United States, with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, and Austin. Under his leadership, J.T. Magen has become renowned for its commitment to sustainability, delivering projects that incorporate eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient systems, and innovative construction methods.
Beyond construction, Maurice has diversified his business interests into entrepreneurial ventures such as Mercantile Entertainment Group, Newtownanner Stud, Park2Travel, WillowWarm, and Trinity Street Car Park, demonstrating his versatility in building and managing successful enterprises across various industries. He said, “You do what you can, when you can and sometimes, I feel the more I give, the more I help, the better I’m going to do, it’s karma. Kerry GAA has built a wonderful training facility in Currans and I’m delighted to support them.”
Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper, a 5-time All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winner. with Kerry said, “I think everybody in Kerry is very grateful for what Maurice has done for the county. When he heard about Kerry and Currans and the training centre and what it meant to the Kerry people, he gave unbelievable support so we are very fortunate.”
Seanie Walsh who was an integral part of the great Kerry team of the seventies and eighties and who taught Maurice Regan in Tralee National School said “what Maurice has done for Kerry GAA is just amazing.“
In a video message played at the ceremony, Kerry star David Clifford thanked Maurice Regan for his huge support and everything he has done for Kerry GAA and continues to do for the county.
