This year’s Poc Fada competition takes place on Monday June 1st in Kerry Head (Eircode: V92 WF25)
The start times vary depending on the group:
2pm for the U16 competition
2:30pm for the Camogie competition
3pm for the Senior competition
U16 clubs taking part: Abbeydorney, Ballyduff, Ballyheigue, Causeway, Crotta O’ Neills & Kilmoyley.
Camogie clubs taking part: Ballyduff, Ceann Mara & Tralee Parnells
Senior clubs taking part: Abbeydorney, Ballyheigue, Causeway, Crotta O’ Neills & Tralee Parnells.
Camogie. 4 clubs.
Some rules and regulations for the event:
> All competitors to be at venue at least 30 minutes before start time.
>. All wear their club jerseys.
>. All competitors to bring at least two people with them to act as ball markers / spotters and score card markers. Over 16 and if possible to bring 2 club sideline flags.
>. All competitors fully togged with change of clothes in the event of weather conditions on the day.
>. Advisable to have water fruit energy bars.
Competition regulations.
>. 2 sliotars per player in the event of losing the 2 sliotars that ends your participation in the competition.
>. The player with the least amount of shots to complete the course is declared the winner.
>. In the event of equal marks the placing of the last shot where ball lands after crossing the finishing line will be declared the winner by measurement.
All presentations made at the venue by a representative from North Kerry Hurling Board who kindly sponsor this event which we are grateful for their continued support over the years.
> Senior winner will receive the county Poc Fada cup and will receive his senior county championship medal at end of year.
The winners from the Senior, Camogie and U16 competitions will go forward to represent the county on June 13th in the Munster final at a Limerick venue.
