Munster Senior Footballer of the Year – David Moran (Ciarraí)

David Moran will have mixed emotions when he takes a look back at the season just ended. The Kerins O’Rahillys clubman, who played minor for the county in 2006, made the natural progression to the Under 21 ranks in the following year spending three years in the grade. He made his senior debut for the Kingdom as far back as 2008, but just as he was coming to his prime, injury struck – not once but twice, effectively wiping out three championship seasons. 2014 saw him return to centre stage and what a return it was ending his season with an All Ireland medal and an All Star to boot!
2015 was to be all about building on that achievement and realising his undoubted potential to the full. Throughout the Munster campaign he was in devastating form as Kerry got over the blip of being taken to a replay by Cork in the provincial decider. His name was already on every observer’s lips as Player of the Year however, a nagging injury that he failed to shake off curtailed his training at the business end of the year and Moran, and indeed Kerry, were left to rue his misfortune.
