Intermediate Hurling Final: Kilmoyley 2-14 Dr Crokes 1-13 2015-10-17 07:42:00

County Intermediate Hurling Championship Final
Kilmoyley 2-14 Dr Crokes 1-13

It was a mixture of youth and mature forty year olds that was instrumental in capturing the fourth Intermediate county final for Kilmoyley since 1994 at Abbeydorney on Sunday last. Even though Dr Crokes were the better team for the first fifteen minutes or so Kilmoyley woke up and started to show their strength and at half time there was only two points between the sides with Kilmoyley having the advantage, 1-7 to 1-5.

Crucial to this scoreline was a Kilmoyley penalty which Brendan Harris drove to the back of the net and the same player was in fine form throughout the game scoring 1-5 in total.
Kilmoyley goal keeper Emmet Meehan pulled off a brilliant save after Dr Crokes were awarded a second half penalty and Joe McElligott stepped up to the mark with four great points as Eoin Sheehy put over the insurance score from a free late on. Dr Crokes, who were tasting defeat in the final for the second year in a row, had plenty chances during the game particularly in the final ten minutes or so when they pressed hard for the equalising goal, however, the Killarney side have the satisfaction of representing Kerry in the Munster Junior Club Championship where they are drawn away to the Limerick champions on the weekend of November 1st.

After the game, Richard Gentleman accepted the cup from County Committee Hurling Officer, Gerard McCarthy.
