Kerry V Dublin In All Ireland Final 2015-09-07 07:47:00

It's a Kerry V Dublin All Ireland Final

Old rivals Kerry and Dublin will meet in the All Ireland Football Final on September 20th following the Dublin side's emphatic 3-15 to 1-14 victory over luckless Mayo at Croke Park on Saturday last. It will be the first meeting between the sides in a final since 2011 when Dublin triumphed on a 1-12 to 1-11 scoreline. Their last Championship meeting was in the 2013 semi final when Dublin also won, 3-18 to 3-11.

Championship meetings between these two sides rarely fail to ignite and no doubt Sunday week’s clash will be no different. It’s 60 years of course since the most famous of all Kerry victories over the Metropolitans when John Dowling’s men caused a sensation by defeating the Dublin “machine” in 1955 and what better way to celebrate that achievement than by lowering the sky blue colours. It promises to be an electric occasion and no doubt, there will be many twists and turns before the final whistle sounds on the 20th of September.

The game will throw in at 3:30 and will be preceded by the all Munster meeting of Kerry and Tipperary in the Minor Final at 1:30pm, a game that will be unique in that it will be the first meeting in a final between two sides from the province.
