Shane Nolan is Poc Fada Champion

The annual Poc Fada competition held on Bank Holiday Sunday on Ballyheigue mountain was a great success  with plenty sunshine and a warm breeze making it a very healthy day on the mountain.

Congratulations to the following winners:

Senior Men: 
Winner: Shane Nolan, Crotta O'Neil's 
2nd Martin Stackpoole, Lixnaw

Under 16 boys:
Winner: Barry O'Mahony Crotta O'Neill's
2nd Evan Murphy, Causeway.

Senior Camogie: 
Winner: Patrice Diggins,  Causeway
2nd Sarah Murphy, Causeway

Under 16 Camogie: 
Emma Lawler, Causeway Camogie Club
2nd Nessa McGarty,  Cillard Camogie club

Hurling Officer, Ger McCarthy wishes to thank to all who helped out on the day especially  the North Kerry Hurling Board who sponsor this event.

Poc Fada

Comórtas Poc Fada Chiarraí, the county long puck hurling competition, will take place over a course on Kerryhead Mountain on this Sunday May 31st commencing at 12.30p.m.

One competitor from each club is invited to participate in the Senior and Under 16 hurling and camogie sections. All competitors must wear their club jersey  and be fully togged out for 12 noon. All hurling Clubs are asked to send two people to act as score markers and all presentations will be made on the mountain afterwards. Water and fruit will be provided for all competitors. The winners of the Senior  mens, Under 16 boys and senior  camogie go foward to the Munster finals on July 4th.
