Novice Quarter Final : St. Senan's V Renard 2015-05-02 09:40:00

St. Senans defeated Renard after a tight and tense affair in Mountcoal on Saturday night, conditions were ideal.

Renard kicked the opening score from Mark Sugrue, Senans levelled things with a Paudie Quill point in the 2nd minute, quickly followed by an excellent point from Brian Sugrue in the 3rd minute.  The next score came in the thirteenth minute when Paudie Quill equalized from play. In the 15th minute Liam O Sullivan gave Renard the lead, before Senans scored points in the 16th and 19th minute to take the lead. Damien Somers and Paudie Quill added scores in the 23rd and 24th minutes for Senans, before Sean O Connell gave Senans a four point lead.  

Sean Weir finished the scoring in the 27th minute to leave Senans ahead, 0-8 to 0-3 at half time.

Senans took control in the opening minutes of the second half adding two points from Paudie Quill by the 5th minute. Darragh Fitzgerald replied for Renard in the 6th minute and this was followed by a Jason Browne point for Senans. Renard fought back with a pointed free from Brian O Sullivan, followed by a Mark Sugrue point in the 15th minute.  Renard were awarded a penalty in the 17th minute which was scored by Brian O Sullivan and the same player added an excellent point.  Paudie Quill scored a point for Senans to stretch the lead to two in the 20th minute.  A Mark Sugrue free in the 23rd minute brought the difference to one point. Brian O Sullivan scored a point to leave the sides level. Paudie Quill kicked points in the 26th and 28th minutes to put Senans ahead by two points. Renard's Mark Sugrue scored a free in the 30th minute to leave a point between the sides.

 Final Score St.Senans 0-14, Renard 1-10.
