Credit Union Senior Football League Updates 2014-12-11 21:05:00

Credit Union Senior Football League

There are still a lot of issue to be decided in the Credit Union Senior Football League.

As we pointed out last week, the Division 1 final between Austin Stacks and Dr Crokes  due to be played in Connolly Park this weekend has been put back to the Spring  due to the unavailability of a number of players on both sides, and with the agreement of both clubs.

There are five games down for decision in Division 3 on Sunday (2:00). While Templenoe have already been promoted as champions, and Scartaglen have been relegated to Division 4 next year, all other promotion and relegation issues have yet to be decided in this Division. St Marys (14) and Glenflesk (13) are in pole position for the two remaining promotion places with Brosna (12) ready to pounce should there be any slip up by those two. It’s no less intriguing at the other end of the table; Dromid Pearses are in a very precarious position on 7 points and above them An Ghaeltacht, Ballymac and Lispole are all on tender hooks with 8 points.  The final round game between Dromid and Lispole will certainly have a big bearing on the relegation issue. The other games see Annascaul play Glenflesk, An Ghaeltacht play Keel, Ballymac play Brosna and St Marys play Templenoe.

In Division 4, the three way playoff for the third promotion place is now down to two following Fossa’s defeat of Castlegregory and Fossa will play Beaufort on Sunday next in Listry (2:00) for the right to play Division 3 football  next season.

The Division 5 playoff for the third promotion place saw Ballydonoghue defeat Renard  by 0-11 to 0-6 and they join champions Dr Crokes and St Senans in Division 4 next season.
