Brosna are Munster Junior Champions
Brosna continued Kerry’s great record in Munster Club Championships when defeating Limerick champions Glin to lift the Munster Junior championship cup at Mallow on Sunday (0-15 to 2-6). It was a hard earned victory for the North Kerrymen who recovered from conceding goals early in each half to emerge deserving winners.
As selector Jimmy Keane acknowledged afterwards, if one is to concede goals then those are the time to concede them with plenty time for recovery. Brosna, who led by a point at the break (0-7 to 1-3) kept the scoreboard ticking over all afternoon with Adam Barry, a Kerry minor two years ago, outstanding in this department. The new Munster champions will now play Rock, St Patricks from Tyrone in the All Ireland semi final on January 14th or 15th.
And so, it’s a clean sweep for Kerry clubs in the Munster Football Club Championships.
Austin Stacks will play Ulster champions Slaughtneil from Derry in the senior semi final on February 14th or 15th and Ardfert will play the Ulster standard bearers Warrenpoint of Down in the Intermediate semi final on Sunday January 25th.
