Na Gael 4-14, Cromane 0-14

Before this game started, Na Gael applauded Cromane’s All Ireland Medal winner Donnchadh Walsh on to the pitch. Na Gael of course had their own All Ireland Winner playing – the minor Andrew Barry. The first score of the game was a Goal for Na Gael by Mike Griffin. They then had 2 points one from play and one from a free courtesy of Darragh Carmody and Andrew Barry. Na Gael struck for their 2nd goal which was scored by Ciarán Donovan. Cromane then scored 5 points on a row with a free by Sean Sullivan, points from play by Mikey and Darren Houlihan and two further points from play by Sean Sullivan and Donnchadh Walsh. Na Gael then had points from David Culloty but Cromane replied with a point from play by Emmet Casey. Na Gael then had a point from play by Jack Barry. Donnachadh Walsh Cromane had a point from play just before half time. The half time score was Na Gael 2-4 Cromane 0-7.
In the start of the 2nd half, Na Gael ran riot and had points from Jack Barry and David Culloty, Darragh Sheehy and a third goal by Mike Griffin. Cromane replied with points from Liam Walsh, Two from Mikey Houlihan and a point by Danny O’Shea. Na Gael had 2 further points from Mike Griffin and a 4th goal by Darren Burns. Both sides exchanged points in the closing stages. Cromane had 2 from Sean Sullivan and Na Gael had points from Jack Barry and Andrew Barry. The final score was Na Gael 4-14, Cromane 0-14.


Firies 3-10, Knocknagoshel 1-12

Knocknagoshel had the better of the first half with a great exhibition of point taking by Edmund Walsh and full forward Sean O'Connell. Firies kept in touching distance with a late goal from Mike Daly to leave the scores at half time Firies 1-3 to Knocknagoshel 0-10.
Firies were much better in the second half and 2 goals from Conal Murphy and Padraig De Brun helped Firies over the line. Knocknagoshel had a goal towards the end by Michael Walsh. This was a game that could have gone either way but Firies scraped home on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-12.


Beaufort 4-9, Castlegregory 0-10

Beaufort got off to a good start with early points from Kevin O Brien, Kerry minor star Liam Carey and Niall O Connor. Alan Fitzgerald and Liam Maunsell replied, but two goals in the space of a minute from Kevin O Brien and Niall O Connor after good work by James O Reilly and Ronan Murphy gave the home side a commanding lead. Fergal Hallissey, Ronan Murphy and O Brien (0-2) extended the lead, with Padraig Rohan, Brendan Horan and Anthony Kelliher (0-2) keeping Castlegregory in touch. Halftime: Beaufort 2-7, Castlegregory 0-6.
In a repeat of the first half, Francis Courtney and Niall O Connor scored two goals within a minute, and Beaufort finished comfortable winners, keeping their promotion hopes alive. Final Score: Beaufort 4-9, Castlegregory 0-10.



Fossa 2-12, Ballylongford 1-7

Fossa kept their chances of promotion to Division 3 alive with a 2-12 to 1-07 win over Ballylongford at Fossa on Sunday last. Fossa had the better start and led by 1-06 to nil after 15 minutes, the goal coming from Lorcan Daly who crashed the rebound to the net after Tadgh O'Shea's shot was saved in the 13th minute. Fossa were confined to just 1 point in 2nd quarter, with the half time score Fossa 1-07 Ballylongford 0-02.
Ballylongford stepped up a gear after the break rewarded with a penalty scored by Joe McCarthy when Kiki Mulvihill was brought down in the 7th minute. At the three quarter mark, only 5 points between the sides 1-08 to 1-03. At this stage, there were some great blocks by Kevin O'Sullivan and Anthony Wharton. Paudie Clifford scored 3 points from play in the final quarter. Game put beyond doubt in 28th minute when Lorcan Daly netted from a rebound.
