Kerry retain their Munster Minor Crown 2014-07-20 11:34:00

After an entertaining hour’s football in Páirc Uí Chaoímh, Kerry retained their Munster crown with a deserved victory over Cork. Kerry got the boost of an early goal from Tomás Ó Sé and led by 3 points at the break, 1-9 to 1-6.

A Jordan Kiely goal had Kerry leading by 2-13 to 1-9 at one stage in the second half , but a Cork goal by Gary Murphy after Shane Ryan had save his 3rd Championship penalty within a year, had Cork back in the hunt but Kerry finished the stronger to close out the game and were well worth their 4 points winning margin.

Scorers: Kerry; Killian Spillane 0-7, (6fr), Jordan Kiely 1-1, Tomás Ó Sé 1-0, Liam Carey and Brian Rayle 0-2 each, Cormac Coffey, Stephen O’Sullivan, Liam Kearney, Matthew O’Flaherty 0-1 each.

The Electric Ireland Man of Match was Tomás Ó Sé.
