The Poc Fada that was held on Monday 2nd June on Kerryhead mountain and with the weather very favourable there was a large turn out with all clubs were represented. The standard was very high with four players going to a play off for 2nd place in the senior category and two players in the U16 play off to declare a winner. The senior winners in both the Hurling and Camogie will go on to represent the county in the Munster final to be held on the Galtee Mountains in July. Hurling Officer Ger McCarthy thanked everybody who helped out on the day especially all the card markers and Mike Leen of the K L Lounge Ballyheigue for his hospitality during the presentations that followed.

The following are the results in the various categories:

Under 16

The following are the details for Poc Fada competion - Bank Holiday Monday June 2nd.

All players be at the venue for 1.30pm in Kerry Head (Kenny's Farm Yard)
All players wear Club jerseys
All players have 2 hurleys
2 sliotars given to each player (in the event of 2 sliotars lost player is out of competition)
Water and fruit given to each player
Camogie players will use size 4 sliotars
Camogie and U16 will have a shorter course
Two mentors required from each club for card marking would be very much appreciated
All players can tog out or wear tracksuits

The route to the venue will be signposted from Ballyheigue village.

Presentation of prizes afterwards in K.L. Lounge Ballyheigue (Refreshments and finger food served)

All marking cards will be checked by John Lucid and Christy Killeen and the player with the least amount of pucks over the course wins the competition.
