Daingean Uí Chúis 0-20      Glenbeigh-Glencar  3-08

Dingle will be the happier side after another win in sun drenched Páirc an Ághasaigh against Glenbeigh-Glencar, Dingle 0-20 to 3-08 Glenbeigh-Glencar.    With the sun shining down on the faithful, ice cream cones and sun block was badly needed for this close encounter in the Kerry County League Division 1.   Glenbeigh-Glencar began proceedings with a point from play from Jason McKenna; this was after Dingle had dominated the first five minutes, but failed to score.   Cathal Bambury registered Dingle’s first point with a good effort from play. Gavan O’Grady with a point from play and a goal from Caolim Teahan put Glenbeigh-Glencar firmly in control.   Dingle tried to rally with a point from Conor Geaney, but Glenbeigh-Glencar rattled them again with another Kieran Courtney goal just before the 15 minute mark.   The score after 15 minutes played was, Dingle 0-02 to 2-02 Glenbeigh-Glencar.

The next ten minutes was all Dingle and Conor Geaney, with a point from a free kick and a point from play, Tomás Sheehy with a point from play and two Cathal Bambury points from play, brought them back into the game.   Glenbeigh-Glencar kept the scoreboard ticking over with a point from a free kick for Gavan O’Grady.  Dingle added another point from play from the boot of Tomás Sheehy, but once again all  their good work was undone by their failure to protect their goals, when Gavan O’Grady scored Glenbeigh-Glencar’s third goal. When Referee Seamus Mulvihill blew the whistle for halftime, the scoreboard in Páirc an Ághasaigh read:   Dingle 0-08 to 3-03 Glenbeigh-Glencar.

Dingle started the scoring after the restart with a point from a free kick and a point from play from Cathal Bambury.   Glenbeigh-Glencar responded with a point from play from Caolim Teahan.  A Cathal Bambury point from a free kick and a Conor Geaney point from play for Dingle made it a one point game.   Glenbeigh-Glencar responded with a point from a free kick for Gavan O’Grady and Dingle matched them with a Conor Geaney point from play.   Gavan O’Grady, again from a free kick, put Glenbeigh-Glencar two up, but a fine point from Dingle’s Tom Leo O’Sullivan left them one behind again.  The score after 15 minutes played in the second half was:   Dingle 0-14 to 3-06 Glenbeigh-Glencar.

Another Gavan O’Grady point from a free kick for Glenbeigh-Glencar was cancelled out with a Tomás Sheehy point from play for Dingle.   Matthew Flaherty with a point from play for Dingle levelled the game and further points from Darragh O’Sullivan, Conor Geaney and two from Cathal Bambury put them four points up with 30 minutes played.   Glenbeigh-Glencar responded with another Gavan O’Grady point from a free kick and they went in search of another goal to level the game.  With the game in injury time, they worked the ball through the Dingle defence and when Referee Seamus Mulvihill blew the whistle, the travelling supporters shouted penalty and the home supporters shouted free out and game over. Glenbeigh-Glencar were awarded a free in amid much jostling and shouting from both teams and supporters.  The resulting Glenbeigh-Glencar shot was saved and went out for a 45.  The last kick of the game was the 45 and, when it fell to Dingle’s Tom Leo O’Sullivan to field the ball, he cleared his side’s line. When Referee Seamus Mulvihill blew the whistle for fulltime, the scoreboard in Páirc an Ághasaigh read:  Dingle 0-20 to 3-08 Glenbeigh-Glencar.
