Daingean Uí Chúis 0-16 to 3-13 Mid Kerry


Mid Kerry booked their place in the Semi-Finals of the Acorn Life Kerry U21 Co Championship with a good win over Dingle this evening in the Quarter Final played in Páirc an Ághasaigh, Dingle 0-16 to3-13 Mid Kerry.

Niall O’Connor began proceedings with a point from a free for Mid Kerry. Dingle responded with a point from play from Cathal Bambury and a point from a free kick from Conor Geaney. Caolim Tehan kicked two points from play for Mid Kerry before Barry O’Sullivan kicked a point from play for Dingle. A point from a free kick for Liam Carey and a point from play for Niall O’Connor gave Mid Kerry a two point lead. The score after 15 minutes played was, Dingle 0-3 to 0-5 Mid Kerry.


Aidan O’Connor kicked a point from a free kick for Dingle but this was cancelled out with a point from a free kick for David Costello of Mid Kerry. Two Cathal Bambury points, one from a free kick and one from play levelled the game for Dingle. Mid Kerry’s Liam Carey and Dingle’s Garreth Hickey Brosnan exchanged points from play before Liam Carey scored Mid Kerry’s first goal. Dingle responded with a Cathal Bambury point from play but a point from play by Niall O’Connor of Mid Kerry left a goal between the sides. When Referee James O’Sullivan blew the whistle for halftime the scoreboard in Páirc an Ághasaigh read, Dingle 0-8 to 1-8 Mid Kerry.


Mid Kerry began proceedings in the second half with another goal from Liam Carey from the penalty spot, Carey followed this up with a point from a free kick. Two points from play from Cathal Bambury and Conor Geaney gave Dingle hope. Mid Kerry’s Gavin McKenna kicked a point from play before Barry O’Sullivan kicked his second point from play. This was followed by a Conor Geaney point from a free kick to leave Dingle trailing by four points. Mid Kerry’s Gavin McKenna with another run from his defence scored his side’s third goal shortly after this. The score after 15 minutes played in the second half was, Dingle 0-12 to 3-10 Mid Kerry.


Dingle responded with two point from Cathal Bambury, one from play and one from a free kick before Gavin McKenna kicked another point from play for Mid Kerry. Dingle went in search of goals but Mid Kerry’s defence stood firm and all they could manage were two Conor Geaney points from play. Mid Kerry had the final say with a Niall O’Connor point from a free kick and a point from play. 


When Referee James O’Sullivan blew the whistle for fulltime the scoreboard in Páirc an Ághasaigh read Dingle 0-16 to 3-13 Mid Kerry.
