Senior Football League Round 4 this weekend 2017-06-02 22:14:00

After an 8 week break that saw the Senior Football Championship Round 1 and 2 completed and the various Club Championships reach the semi final stages, the Credit Union Senior Football League resumes this weekend with Round 4 games down for decision.


Division 1

Dr Crokes, with a game less played, are the only team with full points in Division 1; Milltown Castlemaine lead the way on 5 points followed by 4 teams on 4 points where John Mitchels, Glenbeigh Glencar and Dingle join Dr Crokes.

The big game of the weekend is John Mitchels against County and All Ireland Champions Dr Crokes. Leaders Milltown-Castlemaine travel to Templenoe who have just a point to their credit and there is a big local derby in Strand Road where Kerins O’Rahillys take on high flying Austin Stacks. Meanwhile St Marys are at home in Cahersiveen against Glenbeigh-Glencar on Sunday.

The An Ghaeltacht Vs Dingle and Desmonds V Rathmore games along with  the Round 1 backgame between Austin Stacks and Dr Crokes will be played on the weekend of June 25th

Division 2 

Division 2 fixtures this weekend got off to an early start when Spa defeated visitors Beaufort on Friday evening by 1-18 to 1-11 to move up to joint top of the table, overnight at least, with table toppers Legion whose Round 4 game with St Pats goes back to the weekend of June 25th. Beaufort stay on 4 points along with Kenmare, Currow and Glenflesk. Kenmare travel to Listowel this weekend to take on Emmetts who have 2 points while the latter two, Glenflesk and Currow clash in Glenflesk. Listry, who are pointless travel to Kilcummin who are two points better off while Waterville and Ardfert, both on two points clash in Waterville.

Division 3

There is a full list of fixtures in Division 3 spread out from Saturday to Monday.

Brosna lead Division 3 with full points and they travel to Finuge who are one of four teams a point behind on 5 points. Of the other three, Ballymac travel to Ballydonoghue, Na Gaeil head west to Annascaul and Dromid Pearses are at home to neighbours St Michaels Foilmore who are on 1 point.

Meanwhile Laune Rangers, who have 3 points, have pointless Gneeveguilla as visitors while on Bank Holiday Monday another pointless Club, St Senans, entertain Fossa who are a point above them in the table.

Division 4

Lispole lead Division 4 on 6 points together with Skellig Rangers who have received a walkover from Duagh this weekend. Lispole do not play this weekend due to Comórtas Peile so their game with Keel will be played on the weekend of June 25th. In the meantime Castlegregory, who  are on 5 points visit Scartaglen who are on one point, and they can  take over top spot by defeating the St Kierans outfit.

Renard and Firies, two of five clubs on two points clash in Farranfore, two more, Beale and Dr Crokes clsh in Ballybunion and another team on 2 points, Tarbert, make the long journey to Derrynane to play Sneem/Derrynane.

Division 5

Ballylongford top Division 5 with full points from 4 games and they travel to Churchill who have 4 points. Cromane and Cordal are both on 6 points but Cordal have a game less played and these sides clash in Cordal in the big game of the weekend. Rathmore on 5 points make the long trip to Asdee while another team on 5 points, Kilgarvan have home venue where Moyvane are the visitors.Ballyduff make the long, long journey to Tuosist for the second time in a few weeks  and Knocknagoshel have home venue against basement club, Austin Stacks.

Note: Round 12 of Division 5 will be played on the weekend of June 25th.
