Castleisland Mart Club Championship Roundup


After four weeks of intense activity, the Club Championships are winding down for the present given that the semi finals of the various championships will not be played until the Autumn. The draws for those semi finals will be made at the next meeting of the county committee which is scheduled for May 29th.

The following is an update of the various championships:


Senior Club Championship

Dr Crokes have qualified for their sixth senior Club Championship final in a row and they will meet Kenmare Shamrocks in the final. Kenmare qualified for their first Senior Club  final following a deserved 3-12 to 1-13 victory over Legion at Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday last. Due to County Championship and Kerry intercounty activity, that game is unlikely to be played until mid Summer.


Intermediate Championship

Templenoe, St Marys, An Ghaeltacht and Laune Rangersare the Intermediate semi finalists.


Premier Junior Championship

Na Gaeil,  Firies, Dromid Pearses, and Skellig Rangers have qualified for the semi finals


Junior Championship

Castlegregory, Tuosist, Lispole and Listry have qualified for the semi finals.


Novice Championship

Scartaglen and Sneem/Derrynane have already qualified for the semi finals of the Novice Championship.  Cromane defeated Clounmacon by 3-19 to 2-11 in a Preliminary Round game at the weekend and they now travel to Kilgarvan in Round 1 with the winners in the semi finals. The final Preliminary Round game goes ahead on May 27th when Moyvane play Asdee with the winners travelling to Beale in Round 1 in search of a semi final place.
