Glenbeigh-Glencar are Munster Junior Champions
Glenbeigh-Glencar were crowned Munster Junior Champions at Mallow on Sunday following a convincing 2-16 to 0-10 victory over Cork side Gabriel Rangers. The mid Kerry side were well on their way to the All Ireland semi final at the break when they led by 2-7 to 0-5 with the goals coming from Caolim Teahan and Kieran Courtney. A string of points during the third quarter secured their passage to the semi final against the Connaught representative on Saturday January 28th.

Glenbeigh-Glencar go for Munster Glory

On Sunday next Kerry Premier Junior champions Glenbeigh-Glencar travel to Mallow to take on Cork’s representatives Gabriel Rangers in the Munster Junior football final seeking to become the ninth Kerry club in a row to claim the title. Neither side have had any great test of their capabilities since winning their respective county titles with the Mid Kerry side getting a walk over in the quarter final and easily accounting for Gerald Griffins of Limerick in the semi final, while Gabriel Rangers recorded rather facile wins over Clare’s Meelick and Clonoulty-Rossmore from Tipperary on their way to the final. This promises to be the best and most competitive of the Munster club finals so far and whoever emerges as winners will know they have been in a game. Throw-in is at 3:15pm.
