Castleisland Mart Club Champ Q/F Austin Stacks 1-9 Dingle 0-11 2016-04-30 22:51:00

Austin Stacks 1-9 Dingle 0-11
A goal in the 6th minute of added time saw Austin Stacks come back from the dead to defeat defending champions Dinge with a controversial winner in the second semi final of the Castleisland Mart Senior Club Championship in Annascaul on Saturday evening.
Both sides started without county players with Paul Geaney absent for Dingle and Kieran Donaghy on the bench for Stacks.

Stacks had got the perfect start going 4 points clear inside the opening 14 minutes courtesy of the Mangans, Fiachna and Brian, David Mannix and Wayne Guthrie but they also lost Greg Horan to an early injury. The Geaneys Conor and Mikey led the Dingle comeback with two points, their first score coming in the 19th minute, and Conor Geaney and Matthew Flaherty tied the game up. Shane Carroll for Stacks and Mikey Geaney swapped points and Shane O’Callaghan gave Stacks a slender one point lead at the break, 6 points to 5.

Mikey Geaney levelled it up soon after the restart and Jack O’Shea and Breándan Kelleher swapped points as did Kelleher and David Mannix to leave the sides tied on 8 points apiece at the three quarter stage. Two good points from Kelleher again and Conor Geaney put Dingle two clear and when Pa McCarthy and that man Kelleher once more swapped points there was still two points between the sides. And five minutes of normal time left. There was no further score until that last ditch effort from Shane O’Callaghan denied the West Kerry side and sent Austin Stacks through to a final meeting with old rivals Dr Crokes.

Scorers: Austin Stacks: Shane O’Callaghan 1-1, David Mannix 0-2, Fiachna Mangan, Brian Mangan, Wayne Guthrie and Shane Carroll 0-1 each.
Dingle: Breandán Kelleher 0-4, Conor Geaney and Mikey Geaney 0-3 each, Matthew Flaherty 0-1.
