LIXNAW HOST CLARE CHAMPIONS THIS SUNDAY Kerry Senior Hurling Champions, Lixnaw play Clare County Champions, Tulla, in the quarterfinal of the AIB Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship on this Sunday at Lixnaw at 2.30 p.m. Tulla defeated Crusheen in the Clare County Final. Having a home venue in their own pitch and facilities is a great advantage to the Lixnaw team as they play host to the Clare champions. COUNTY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL Feale Rangers and South Kerry are busy preparing for the final of the AIB County Senior Football Championship at Austin Stack Park, Tralee on Sunday November 11th. The curtain raiser to the Senior County Final is the replay of the County Under 16 Interdivisional Football Championship Final. The drawn game was a great game of football between two very well prepared teams and the replay should provide another thrilling game. MUNSTER CLUB FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP Kilcummin, Kerry’s representatives in the AIB Munster Senior Club Football Championship, will be away to Lissycasey, the Clare County Champions at Cusack Park, Ennis, on Sunday November 11th at 2.00 p.m. JUNIOR SHIELD FINAL Glenbeigh/Glencar defeated Beale in the Junior Shield Final last Sunday at Austin Stack Park. The game provided the supporters of both clubs with a very entertaining and well-contested final. NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP The semi-final replay of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart Novice Football Championship between Ballydonoghue and Tuosist will be played on this Sunday at 2.00 p.m. at Listry. Extra time will be played if necessary. Cromane defeated Listry in their long awaited quarterfinal played at Cromane last Sunday. The date of the semi-final between Cromane and Churchill was not available at time of writing. In Division 2 Sneem were beaten at home by Annascaul last Sunday. Sneem are still in relegation danger but on the other hand the win for Annascaul has put them back in contention for the second promotion place. Castleisland Desmonds, Currow, Beale and Waterville are also in contention. St. Michael’s/Foilmore are already promoted from this division. In Division 3 Renard won their back game against Glenflesk last Sunday. The result of this game had implications at the top and bottom of the table. Glenflesk are on the verge of promotion and Renard are fighting relegation. Renard have another back game to play against table toppers, Tarbert, before the last round of games is played. Tarbert, Glenflesk and Kenmare are battling for the two promotion places and with Beaufort already relegated it would appear that Tuosist, Na Gaeil, Renard and to a lesser extent Ballymacelligott and Castlegregory will battle it out to avoid the second relegation position. On Saturday last at Beaufort defeated Lispole in their Round 11 game. In their Division 4 back game Keel had a convincing win against Ballydonoghue to put them back on top of the table and level on points with Duagh. St. Pat’s are two points adrift of the leaders. All three teams on the top of the table, Duagh, Keel and St. Pat’s have one back game left to play before the last round. It is also a tense time for the teams at the bottom end of this table. Cromane have two back games to play and Ballydonoghue have one back game each. The results of these back games will need to b e known before the last round can be played. In Division 5 the crucial back game in the promotion race between Moyvane and Fossa was won by Moyvane. Fossa have all their games played and are on 18 points at the top of the table. Knocknaghoshel and Moyvane have 16 points each with one game left to play and Churchill and Ballylongford are on 14 points also with one game left to play. On this Sunday at 2.00 p.m. Moyvane are at home to Churchill and Ballylongford host Knocknagoshel. The results of these games could decide the two promotion places. It is so tight at the top of the table in this division that playoffs could not be ruled out to eventually resolve the situation. UNDER 21 FOOTBALL FINAL South Kerry defeated St. Kieran’s in the County Under 21 Football Championship Final played at J.P. O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin on Bank Holiday Monday. UNDER 21 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Beaufort defeated Listowel Emmets in the quarterfinal of the County Under 21 Club Championship on Bank Holiday Monday. They now go on to meet Dr. Crokes in the semi-final. Fossa/Listry play Dingle in the other semi-final. Both semi-finals will be played on Saturday November 10th. MINOR HURLING In the second semi-final of the County Minor Hurling Shield, Lixnaw defeated St. Brendan’s at Causeway on Saturday last. They will meet Causeway in the final at a date and time to be arranged. Sean issues an open invitation to the people of Kerry to attend. INTERPROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL There was no joy for the Munster Football team in last Saturday’s final of the M. Donnelly Interprovincial Football Championship played under lights at Croke Park. Unfortunately for the Munster that a number of good goal scoring chances were not converted and Ulster made good clinical use of their scoring chances. In the hurling final Munster defeated Connacht. The lights at Croke Park are really magnificent and are another great asset to the stadium. SCÓR NA nÓG The North Kerry Finals of Coiste Scór Na nÓg Ciarraí Thuaidh will take place in the Marian Hall, Moyvane on this Saturday night November 3rd. The curtain will be going up at 8.30 p.m. sharp. The competition will once again be kindly sponsored by Paddy and Eileen Horgan,Amber Filling Station, Tarbert Road, Listowel
