The replay between Feale Rangers and Kilcummin in the first of the semi-finals the AIB County Senior Football Championship will be played on this Saturday September 29th at 4.00 p.m. at Austin Stack Park. Extra time will be played if necessary. In what was the last kick of the game Kilcummin drew level to earn the replay. Meanwhile, as a result of the defeat of Kerins O’Rahillys by Mid Kerry in their quarterfinal replay at Killorglin last Sunday, Kilcummin are Kerry’s representatives in the AIB Munster Senior Club Championship as the last club team standing in the County Senior Championship. The reigning champions South Kerry play Mid Kerry in the second semi-final at 2.00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney on this Sunday September 30th.The County Final will be played on Sunday October 14th. At Castleisland on Sunday last John Mitchels retained their Senior County Championship status after their victory over Milltown/Castlemaine in extra time in the replay of the Championship Relegation Playoff game. COUNTY MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL West Kerry defeated Dr. Crokes in the final of the Keane’s Super Valu County Minor Football Championship last Sunday at Austin Stack Park. The final was the curtain raiser to the County Senior Championship Semi-final between Feale Rangers and Kilcummin. This was West Kerry’s first minor championship title since 1993 and on the other hand it was heartbreaking for Dr. Crokes to lose their third successive County Minor Championship Final, losing to South Kerry in the 2005 final and to Kerins O’Rahillys in the 2006 final. UNDER 21 COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL The County Under 21 Football Championship Final between St. Kieran’s and South Kerry was postponed last Sunday as a mark of respect for Thomas Mitchell from Currow and a former St. Kieran’s player, who died tragically in a building site accident last Friday. The final has been rescheduled for Austin Stack Park at 7.30 p.m. on Friday October 5th if South Kerry are in the County Senior Final or on Saturday October 6th at 4.00 p.m. at Killorglin if Mid Kerry are in the County Senior Final. COUNTY INTERMEDIATE & JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS Annascaul have already qualified for the final of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart County Intermediate Football Championship having beaten St. Michael’s/Foilmore in the first of the semi-finals a few weeks ago. Finding a suitable date for the second semi-final between Listowel Emmets and Finuge has proven difficult. Both clubs have players involved with Feale Rangers in the Senior County Championship, Finuge have players on the Lixnaw team in the County Senior Hurling Championship Final and there are two big weddings in October, Finuge’s Eamonn Fitzmaurice and Listowel’s Noel Kennelly. Notwithstanding all of these obstacles to the fixture both clubs have agreed to play the semi-final under floodlights at Austin Stack Park on Friday October 19th and the final is arranged for Sunday November 4th. The Castleisland Co-Op Mart County Junior Football Championship Final between Keel and Castlegregory cannot be arranged due to Mid Kerry’s continued involvement in the Senior County Football Championship. NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP & SHIELD The long overdue quarterfinal of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart Novice Football Championship between Cromane and Listry is delayed further due to Mid Kerry’s continued involvement in the Senior County Championship. Churchill await the winners of this quarterfinal. The first of the semi-finals between Ballydonoghue and Tuosist will be played on Sunday October 7th at 2.30 p.m. in Listry. Extra time will be played if necessary. The Novice Shield Semi-final between Fossa and Clounmacon will be played on Sunday October 7th at Strand Road. Extra time will be played if necessary. In Division 5 the back game between Knocknagoshel and Fossa will be played on this Sunday at 2.30 p.m. The result of this game will have an impact on the promotion race in this division with both teams on 16 points each at the top of the table. A further list of back games will be scheduled for Sunday October 7th. COUNTY MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Kilmoyley defeated Ballyduff in the first of the semi-finals of the Keane’s Super Valu County Minor Hurling Championship last Saturday and they will meet the winners of the second semi-final between Ballyheigue and Crotta O’Neills which will be played at Causeway on this Sunday September 30th at 12.00 p.m. Extra time will be played if necessary.
