FINAL PAIRING NOW KNOWN ... Ballyduff and Causeway reached the final of the AIB County Senior Hurling Championship after their exciting semi-final victories last weekend. Ballyduff defeated Kilmoyley on Saturday night and on Sunday, Causeway defeated Abbeydorney. The final will be played on Sunday September 10th at Austin Stack Park, Tralee. ALL-IRELAND FINALS After last Sunday’s minor and senior All-Ireland Semi-finals Mayo are our opponents in the Bank Of Ireland Football Championship Final and Roscommon will be our opposition in the ESB Minor Football Championship Final. Our two teams are back training for their big day in Croke Park on Sunday September 17th. We face tough opposition in both finals and the players and team managements are giving everything possible to ensure the teams have the best possible preparation for their All-Ireland Finals. The Kerry Supporters can play their part in the build up to the finals in their towns, villages and work places by proudly showing the Kerry Colours and it is also good to see so many of the younger supporters wearing the Kerry Jersey as their leisure wear. Seeing all the Green and Gold colours around the county will give the teams a great boost. CHURCH GATE COLLECTION TICKET SCHEME Members of the Kerry County Board 2003-2008 Ticket Purchase Scheme are reminded that Thursday September 7th is the closing date for receipt of their application for tickets under this scheme for the Bank Of Ireland All-Ireland Final at Croke Park on Sunday September 17th. Stand Tickets will cost €60. Due to the limited number of tickets allocated to Kerry for the All-Ireland Finals it is only possible to allocate one ticket per unit purchased in the Ticket Scheme. Tickets allocated to the scheme will be reallocated to the clubs and other units after the closing date. FUNDRAISING EVENTS Playing in the All-Ireland Final costs a lot of money and in order to raise funds there will be a number of official fund-raising events organised by Kerry County Board prior to the All-Ireland Final and also in Dublin during the All-Ireland weekend. We are appealing to our clubs and supporters to give their full backing and support to the official fund-raising events that have been organised by Kerry County Board leading up to the final. Supporters are also requested to be alert to some unofficial fund raising ventures that are already in operation. These are not endorsed or supported by Kerry County Board and the funds raised are solely for commercial profit. DUBLIN GOLF CLASSIC The Kerry Association in Dublin are holding a Golf Classic at Lucan Golf Club on Wednesday September 13th. The cost of the four ball is €1000 and there will be two stand tickets for each entry. The proceeds of the Golf Classic will go to the Kerry Senior and Minor Team Training Funds. For further information regarding teams and times contact Yvonne Moriarty at 087 6889698, Kerry Association committee members or the Kerry County Board Office at 066 71 22061. A fund raising banquet in aid of the Senior and Minor Team training funds will be held at The Great Southern Hotel, Killarney on Saturday September 9th. A table of ten costs €1,500 and will include two stand tickets. Enquiries for booking tables should be made to County Committee officers, Patrick O’Sullivan, Mike McCarthy, Bernie Reen, John Joe O’Carroll, or the County Board Office (066) 71 22061. ALL-IRELAND WEEKEND EVENTS IN DUBLIN Live music and Disco will be at Jury’s Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin on the Sunday of the All-Ireland Final weekend. Admission is €20. Tickets will be available in Dublin from Kerry Association members and at the Kerry County Board Office during the week leading up to the final. PLAYERS HOLIDAY FUND The Kerry Senior Football players will be presented with a Toyota Car as All-Ireland Finalists. Tickets for the car raffle are €10 and they will be on sale leading up to the All-Ireland Final. All the proceeds are going towards the Players Holiday Fund. Tickets are available from Club Secretaries and County Committee Officers. Tickets can also be bought by sending your Name, Address & Phone Number together with Cheque or Postal Order to cover the cost of ticket(s) to: - Éamon O’Sullivan, Rúnaí, P.O. Box 125, The Pavilion, Austin Stack Park, Tralee, Co. Kerry. The players and team management have given the Kerry Supporters yet another magnificent year to remember, firstly by winning the National League and they have now qualified for the All-Ireland Final. The Players Holiday Fund deserves to be supported especially by those of us who have got such enjoyment from their performances during the year. The Players Holiday Fund is also supported by contributions from Croke Park, Bank Of Ireland, Kerry Group, Munster Council and voluntary contributions. There was some negative comment made about the Car Raffle last year but they were very much in the minority and the venture received full backing from the vast majority of Kerry Supporters. Thousands of Kerry people are prepared to spend quite a lot of money during the All-Ireland Final weekend in Dublin so we are asking those in particular to support the Players Holiday Fund by purchasing a €10 raffle ticket. It is a very small extra donation when compared to the other costs that people will incur. We are asking our supporters to show a small appreciation for the players who made it all possible. SUPPORTERS CLUB BUS The Kerry Supporters Club are organising a bus to Dublin for the All-Ireland Final. Seats must be booked and paid for at 9.00 p.m. on Monday September 11th at The Listowel Arms Hotel and Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee. COUNTY INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP Three of the four quarterfinals of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart County Intermediate Football Championship were played last Sunday. Annascaul and Castleisland Desmonds are through to the semi-finals but Ardfert and Waterville must meet again as their game failed to produce a winner even after extra time was played.
