Congratulations to Causeway on winning the 2019 Garvey’s SuperValu Kerry Co. Senior Hurling Championship title, thus bridging a gap of 21 years since their last title in 1998. In last Sunday’s final, played at Austin Stack Park, they defeated Lixnaw by 2 - 13 to 1 - 13. This was Causeway’s 8th title. Team captain, Muiris Delaney received the new Corn Neilus Ó Floinn from Tim Murphy, Cathaoirleach Choiste Contae Chiarraí, C.L.G. while the Man of the Match Award went to the Causeway full forward Conor Harty.
Causeway now go on to compete in the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship quarter-final on 3 November against the Waterford intermediate championship winners.
County Minor Hurling Championship
Congratulations also to Crotta on winning the Keane’s SuperValu County Minor hurling championship. They defeated Ballyduff by 1 - 11 to 0 - 13. Corn Seán Loibhéad was presented by the Cathaoirleach Tim Murphy to the captain, Rory Mahony while right half back Denis Nolan won the Man of the Match Award. This is Crotta’s third title, having previously won in 2016 & 2017.
Congratulations to Kilgarvan on winning the 2019 Co. Intermediate Hurling Championship. In the Final played at Dr. Crokes GAA Grounds, Killarney on Saturday last they had a 1 - 18 to 1 - 12 win over Kenmare to win Corn Antóin Ó Murchú for the second year in a row.
North Kerry update
The North Kerry Under 16 competitions begin on Sunday, 15 September while the next Under 10 Blitz will be hosted by Tralee Parnell’s at Caherslee on Saturday, 7 September commencing at 10.00a.m.
The North Kerry Under 21 Hurling Championship quarter finals are due to be played on the weekend 30/31 August. The draw is: Crotta v Abbeydorney; Lixnaw v Ballyduff; Kilmoyley v Causeway; Tralee Parnell’s v St. Brendan’s [first named at home].
