Garvey's SuperValu County Senior Hurling Championship
Round 2 of the Garvey’s SuperValu Kerry County Senior Hurling Championship will go ahead this weekend with all games at Austin Stack Park and with extra time if necessary.
Saturday, 27 July, Round 2B - Ballyheigue v Ballyduff at 2.00pm; Round 2A - St. Brendan's v Crotta at 4.00pm
Sunday, 28 July in Round 2B - Kilmoyley v Abbeydorney at 5.00pm; Round 2A - Causeway v Lixnaw at 7.00pm.
Round 2A winners go through to the semi-finals. Round 2B losers exit the championship.
In the Round 1 replay last Friday, Crotta had a 1 - 16 to 0 - 10 win over Ballyduff.
The 2019 County Minor Hurling Championship will get underway on Monday next, 29 July, 7pm.
In a Preliminary Round game Lixnaw play Kilgarvan/Kenmare/Dr. Crokes (A).
Round 1 fixtures are: St. Brendan's v Crotta O'Neill's; Abbeydorney v Ballyduff and Causeway/Kilmoyley v Tralee Parnell's. Extra time in all games if necessary In the fourth first round tie, the winners of A above will meet Ballyheigue, date to be confirmed.
In the Lee Strand County Under 16 Hurling Championship Cup quarter final St. Brendan’s defeated Abbeydorney while in the Plate quarter final, Lixnaw had a 4 - 17 to 3 - 10 win over South Kerry.
Kerry defeated Meath last Saturday at Semple Stadium in the semi-final of the All-Ireland Under 20 B Championship [Ritchie McElligott Cup]. Final score 2 - 21 to 1 - 19.
They will now play Down in the final on Saturday 3rd August at 3:45pm in Páirc Tailteann, Navan.
Hurling Cúl Camps
The Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps for Hurling in Kerry will continue on Monday next at Abbeydorney (29 July – 2 August). Online booking www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps The cost is €60 per child with reductions for additional members of families and this includes Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp gear (including a jersey, training top and backpack). Open to children between the ages of 6 to 13; times 10.00 am to 2.30pm. daily. Remaining camps are: Crotta O’Neill’s – Dromakee (5 – 9 August); Kilmoyley & Tralee Parnell’s - Caherslee (12 – 16 August).
North Kerry Under 14 'B' Hurling Championship Final result Tuesday, 16 July - Ballyheigue 9 - 8 Crotta O'Neill's 1 - 9. Captain Bobby Breen was presented with the Todd Nolan Memorial Shield by Gavin O’Connor, Children’s Officer, Bord Iomána Ciarraí Thuaidh.
