Hurling by Tommy O’Connor
Last Saturday was an important and historic day for the Kerry senior hurlers. A tremendous 1 - 18 to 1 - 16 win over Offaly ensured that they would retain their Joe McDonagh Cup competition status for 2020 but also gave a boost to hurling in the county with a win over a county that in the not too distant past were striving for senior All-Ireland honours. This game also signalled the end of their competitive season for 2019. Thanks to all who played Kerry senior hurling during the season, in particular to the panel of players under the team manager Fintan O’Connor and selectors Brendan Cummins, Seán Maunsell and Brian Cuthbert. The focus will now turn to the 2019 Garvey’s Super Valu Kerry Co. Senior Hurling Championship [Corn Neilus Ó Floinn] which will commence on the weekend of 6/7 July.
