There was huge disappointment for the Kerry senior hurlers on Sunday last when they were defeated by 2 points, 0 - 12 to 0 - 10 to Westmeath in the Final of Division 2A of the 2019 Allianz Hurling League.
Well done to all who were involved in the Kerry league campaign and they will now look forward to the Joe McDonagh Cup which begins on the weekend of 11 May with an away trip to Antrim.
The County Senior Hurling League Division 1 will get underway this weekend.
Round 1 fixtures are as follows:
Saturday, 16 March at 2.00p.m. St. Brendan’s v Ballyduff;
Causeway v Crotta O’Neill’s Saturday, 16 March at 3.30p.m.;
Sunday 17 March at 4.00p.m. Kilmoyley v Ballyheigue & Abbeydorney v Lixnaw.
The 2019 Todd Nolan inter county hurling tournament will take place on Saturday, 23 March at both the Crotta G.A.A. grounds at Dromakee and the Abbeydorney GA.A. grounds.
Teams competing will be the Kerry Under 17 hurling team and Under 16 Development squads from Limerick, Cork & Tipperary.
The North Kerry Hurling Board Scór na bPáistí competitions were held at the White Sands Hotel, Ballyheigue on Saturday last.

The launch and draws for the 2019 Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior, Intermediate and Under 21 Hurling Championships took place on Tuesday evening, 12 March at Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Details are on the North Kerry Hurling Board Facebook page.
This tournament, which commenced in 2008, commemorates the former Kerry and Crotta O’Neill’s hurler, Todd Nolan – he also played Railway Cup hurling with Munster in 1969 and won a Co. Senior Championship medal in 1968.
