The season got back on track for the Kerry senior hurlers last Sunday when they had a rather easy 3 - 18 to 0 - 9 win over Mayo in their Allianz Hurling League Division 2A round 3 tie. Their campaign continues this weekend with an away game against London. It will be played on Saturday, 23 February at McGovern Park, Ruislip where there will be a 1.00p.m. throw in time.
A Level 1 Foundation Coaching course will take place in the Ballyheigue G.A.A. Clubrooms over 3 sessions – Tuesday evening, 26 February, Thursday evening, 28 February and Saturday morning, 2 March. The course tutors will be Maurice Leahy & P.J. Ryan. Details have been circulated to all clubs and it is being organised by Giles O’Grady, Hurling GDA.
The North Kerry Hurling Board has put in place the dates for all its 2019 competitions.
First up will be the minor hurling championship which will be played each Sunday morning during April, commencing on Sunday, 7 April.
The intermediate league will be played on Friday evenings, commencing on Friday, 12 April.
The North Kerry senior league will be played on Sundays during May, commencing on Sunday, 12 May.
The Tralee Parnell’s Spring Hurling Academy will continue on this Friday, 22 February at Tralee Sports Complex. It caters for Under 6 to 10 hurling and camogie. Equipment will be provided. Details on the Tralee Parnell’s Facebook page.
Best of luck to Kerry senior hurler, Shane Conway, in the Final of the Fitzgibbon Cup Universities Hurling Championship Final this weekend. His U.C.C. team will take on Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in the final at Waterford on Saturday, throw in time 2.45p.m.
Duagh Hurling Club will hold their medal presentation night on Saturday week, 2 March at 8.30pm at O’Briens Bar, Duagh. The team will be presented with South Kerry Junior hurling League medals from 2018 as well as the Co. Senior Hurling League Division 3 medals.
