Round 2 of the Credit Union Co. Senior hurling league Division 1 last weekend saw wins for St. Brendan’s, Causeway and Ballyduff. On Friday evening two games were played under lights; at Caherslee, St. Brendan’s had a 1 - 19 to 2 - 11 win over Ballyheigue while at Abbeydorney, Causeway had a 1 - 17 to 2 - 8 win over the home side. On Saturday at Ballyduff, the home side gained their first league points with a 4 – 12 to 1 – 12 win over Lixnaw. The Crotta O’Neill’s v Kilmoyley game was due to be played on Monday evening at Dromakee.
Round 3 games for this weekend are: Friday, 30 March, Lixnaw v Crotta and Ballyduff v Causeway, both at 6.00p.m.; Saturday, 31 March Abbeydorney v Ballyheigue at 6.00p.m. and on Sunday, 1 April at Ardfert, St. Brendan’s v Kilmoyley at 2.30p.m.
Todd Nolan Hurling Tournament
The 2018 Todd Nolan inter county hurling tournament will take place on this Saturday, 31 March at both the Crotta G.A.A. grounds at Dromakee (for the first time) and the Abbeydorney GA.A. grounds. The Kerry minor (Under 17) team will compete with Under 16 Development squads from Limerick, Cork & Waterford. Fixtures are as follows: semi-finals (12 noon) - Waterford v Kerry at Crotta O'Neill's G.A.A Club and Limerick v Cork at Abbeydorney. The two winners go forward to the Cup Final at 2.00pm in Dromakee with the Shield Final at 2.00pm in Abbeydorney. This tournament, which commenced in 2008, commemorates the former Kerry and Crotta O’Neill’s hurler, Todd Nolan – he also played Railway Cup hurling with Munster in 1969 and won a Co. Senior Championship medal with Crotta in 1968.

Lee Strand Under 16 County Hurling League Round 3 fixtures for this Thursday, 29 March at 6.30p.m.: Division 1 - Ballyduff v Abbeydorney; Crotta v Kenmare/Kilgarvan; Ballyheigue bye. Division 2 - Kenmare/Kilgarvan v Lixnaw; Tralee Parnells v St. Brendan's; Kilmoyley bye. Round 4 is fixed for Thursday, 5 April. Results to Timmy Weir (Abbeydorney), the Under 16 hurling co-ordinator.
The Lee Strand Under 12 hurling leagues will commence on Friday week, 6 April, 7.00p.m. and will continue each Friday until 18 May. Kenmare/Kilgarvan and Tralee Parnell’s have entered teams in all 3 Divisions. One game, Ballyheigue v Causeway has been brought forward to Easter Monday, 2 April at Ballyheigue, 3.00p.m. John Ross (Ballyduff) will be the co-ordinator for this competition.
Féile na nGael
Dates for the Kerry Under 14 Féile na nGael competition are Saturday, 28 April and Saturday, 5 May with the Finals on Monday, 7 May. It will be divided into 3 Groups as follows: The A Group will comprise of Abbeydorney, Ballyduff, Ballyheigue, Crotta, Lixnaw and Kenmare/Kilgarvan. The B Group will involve the 4 teams from the A Group above who do not reach the Final. The C Group will include Causeway, Kilmoyley, St. Brendan’s, Tralee Parnell’s and South Kerry. One team from each of the Groups will qualify for the National Féile competitions to be hosted by the Connacht G.A.A. on the weekend of 8 – 10 June.
Tralee Parnell’s club will hold an Easter Hurling Camp from Monday, 26 March to Wednesday, 28 March, from 10.00a.m. to 1.00p.m. each day. Details on the Tralee Parnell’s website.
