Last weekend saw mixed fortunes for the Kerry Teams, the Kerry Senior Hurlers had a great win in Kildare which very much keeps alive the hope of promotion. The Kerry Footballers however lost to Monaghan in Inniskeen after a hard-fought battle where again we witnessed the great fight in our Kerry Panel. The newer players are getting plenty of game time under their belt and their self confidence is developing and the more experienced players are showing great leadership qualities. Tough games like this will stand to the players come Championship time.
Big crowds are expected in the Austin Stack Park Tralee on Sunday to watch both the footballers and hurlers in action. Gates are opening at 11.30am and I strongly encourage all those attending the game to purchase their tickets as early as possible this week. Tickets are available to purchase for €12 in Centra, SuperValu or in the Kerry GAA Store, Killarney. Tickets purchased on the day are priced at €15 and free admission for U16s.
Currently the Kerry footballers are on 4 points on the League table below Dublin and Galway who are both on 6 points. Monaghan are also on 4 points, Mayo and Tyrone are on 2 points. Donegal and Tyrone are currently bottom of the table having lost all three games. It’s all to play for in round 4 and the Kerry versus Galway game is sure to be an exciting encounter.
