Hurling Replay promises to be another enthralling encounter

All roads lead to Austin Stack Park again on this Sunday, 15th October for the replay of the Garvey’s SuperValu Co. senior hurling championship final between Ballyduff and Lixnaw. Throw in time is again 3p.m.

In the drawn game last Sunday, a late point from a side-line cut by Shane Conway brought the sides level; Lixnaw 1 - 18 Ballyduff 2 - 15. It was an epic ending to a game that thrilled the 3,928 attendance throughout.

Both sides were full of praise for the drawn encounter:

"You would travel a long way to find two better performances on a big stage on a county final day in any county. In fairness to both players they got some superb scores. – Lixnaw Coach, Mark Foley.

“As a contest it was a superb advertisement for Kerry hurling. But I must great credit to the referee and he left the play flow”, Ballyduff Chairman, Liam Ross.

Sunday’s game promises to be another enthralling encounter between two sides who know each other inside out. Will Ballyduff go to the top of the Championship Roll Of Honour or Will Lixnaw claim their 9th title? We will know on Sunday around 4:30!

Referee for the game is the experienced Cathal McAllister from Cork.

The winners go on to compete in the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship on the weekend of 5th November against either Kanturk (Cork) or St. Mary’s, Clonmel (Tipperary).
