Kerry GAA Night of Champions drew Record Crowds   22/06/2017

Kerry GAA Night of Champions drew Record Crowds

The Kerry GAA Night of Champions at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday evening last drew record crowds for the event which was held in brilliant sunshine. The major Kerry GAA annual Fundraiser is rightly acclaimed as one of the highlights of the GAA Social calendar in the county and Friday night did not disappoint in that respect.

The Kerry senior Football squad, led by manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice,  were present and played no small part in the enjoyment of the evening and thanks is due to them for their patience in providing  autographs and photos and selfies etc for young and old alike. Thanks also to the members of the Kerry Senior Hurling panel and their manager Fintan O’Connor.

On the track, the big Race of the evening, The Kerry GAA Suporters Club Race of Champions, was won by Killinan Rosie earning €15,000 for the connections, while the winner of the Kerry GAA Club Sweepstake was won from Trap 3 by the aptly named “Right Half Back” who earned a nice cheque for both Lispole and North Kerry Football Board.

No such event of course would be complete without a “Best Dressed Lady” competition and on this occasion, the Judges from Jasmeine Boutique opted for the “Lady in Red” Anne Chute from Killarney.

Winners of the Race Card Draw were as follows:

1st: Kathleen Casey-O’Connell, Abbeydorney

2nd: Bobby Hutchinson, Monavalley, Tralee

3rd: Dan O’Sullivan, St Stephen’s Pk, Castleisland

4th: Ellie O’Sullivan, Firies, Killarney

5th: Seamus Murphy, Derrymore West, Tralee

6th: Martina Sheila O’Sullivan, Loher, Killorglin

7th: Joe O’Connor, Bunagara, Listowel.

The winners of the Buster Card Draw were:

1st: Gary Sayers, Milltown

2nd: Joe Scally, Malton Hotel, Killarney.

Our thanks to everyone who made the evening such a tremendous success; particularly the organising committee under Christy O’Connell
