Credit Union Senior Hurling League

Lixnaw and Ballyduff are now joint leaders of the Credit Union Co. Hurling League Division 1 table following last week’s results. Both have 8 points, with Lixnaw having played 5 games and Ballyduff 4. They are followed by Kilmoyley and Causeway on 6 points each, St. Brendan’s on 4 points and Crotta and Abbeydorney on 2 points each. Ballyheigue have yet to record a victory in the league. Results: Lixnaw 3 - 17 St. Brendan’s 1 - 9; Ballyduff 3 - 6 Crotta 1 - 8; Kilmoyley 0 - 14 Ballyheigue 1 - 9; Causeway 1 - 18 Abbeydorney 0 - 8.

Minor Hurling Leagues

The Co. Minor hurling leagues commence on Monday next, 19 June with the following fixtures: Div. 1A - South Kerry v Lixnaw; Crotta v St. Brendan’s. Div. 1B - Ballyheigue v Kilmoyley; Ballyduff v Abbeydorney. Causeway bye. Further rounds on Mondays, 26 June & 3 July.


Celtic Challenge

The Kerry Under 17 hurlers exited the Celtic Championship competition last Saturday when they were defeated by 1 – 15 to 1 – 11 by Limerick South/East in the Division 4 quarter final. Player of the Match was Liam Twomey (Kilgarvan) while voted the Kerry squad Player of the Tournament was Tadhg Brick (Tralee Parnell’s).


Hurling Cúl Camps 2017

With the 2017 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps just a few weeks away, registration is now open. Hurling venues in Kerry are: Causeway & Rathmore (3 - 7 July), Lixnaw & Ballyduff (10 - 14 July), Ballyheigue & Kenmare (17 - 21 July), Abbeydorney, Ardfert & Fitzgerald Stadium (31 July - 4 Aug.), Crotta O’Neill’s - Dromakee (7 - 11 August) and Kilmoyley & Tralee Parnell’s - Caherslee (14 - 18 August).

Cost is €60 per child with reductions for additional members of families. Open to primary school children, boys and girls between 6 and 13 years of age. Monday’s to Friday’s, 10.00a.m. – 2.30p.m. daily. Further details & online registration at www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie


Clubs

Best of luck to the clubs who will be travelling to Kilkenny/Carlow on this weekend for the National Under 14 Féile na nGael competitions. Hurling teams travelling will be Kenmare/Kilgarvan, Ballyheigue and Tralee Parnell’s together with both Causeway and Cillard camogie teams. Congratulation to Cillard club player, Amy O’Sullivan (Crotta), on winning the national All-Ireland Féile camogie skills competition in Dublin last weekend. This is a wonderful achievement and another major boost for Kerry camogie.
