
Tralee Parnells Launch took place last Friday night the 20th July 2012
It was standing room only as a big crowd was in attendance at Austin Stack Park Friday evening for the official launch of the Tralee Parnell Hurling Club.The Tralee Parnell’s Panel who earlier were presented with their training gear along with parents and well wishers listened to Joe Walsh Kerry Hurling Officer, Tralee Parnells Chairman Mark Ryall, Mayor of Tralee Johnnie Wall and County Board Chairman Patrick O Sullivan.
Mark Ryall spoke of the hard work to date and thanked the 50 or so players that have attended training and matches. He added that for Kerry hurling to be successful Tralee needs to have a strong hurling team.
Johnnie Wall said it was a dream of his to see a Kerry Senior Hurling team compete in an all Ireland Quarter or Semi Final in his lifetime.
Patrick O Sullivan thanked all 7 clubs involved with Tralee Parnells for getting behind the initiative and offered the county boards support to help develop the club.
Joe Walsh County Hurling Officer thanked everybody for their hard work since the club had formed.
The club jersey was launched by club sponsor Rory Kerins of Pro plan property management.
After some light refreshments the action then switched to the field where the U13’s took on Kilmoyley in an entertaining game. Cor klegend Sean Og O Hailpin spoke to both sets of players at half time and offered some words of advice to the lads. Kilmoyley were victorious but the real winners on the evening were the town of Tralee and the game of hurling.

The launch for Tralee Parnell's Hurling club will take place on Friday the 20th of July at 6.30pm in Austin Stacks Park, All are invited to attend to this historic event, special guest of honour will be Cork hurling legend Seán Óg Ó hAilpín.
The launch will be followed by the meeting of Tralee Parnell's and Kilmoyley in the Under 13b North Kerry Championship at 7.30pm.
