All Allianz Cumann na mBunscol districts to notify their selected players. Boys and girls selected at this trial will play on the hallowed sod of Semple Stadium Thurles on Sunday week May 27th. There has been much publicity in recent weeks highlighting the important role defibrillators can play in sports clubs
Many GAA Clubs in the county have purchased defibrillators. Kerry Co Board has provided training in their use. There was a very good take up at these training courses. Many defibrillators are now housed in shiny new boxes at club grounds throughout the county.
Let's pose some obvious questions.
There was a fantastic response from Clubs to the March 31st initiative for the payment of their affiliation, coaching and registration fees. The Co Committee are most appreciative to all the clubs that paid their fees by 31st March. A draw took place on Monday 2nd April between the clubs that had all fees paid. The winners of €1,000 were Dr Crokes.

Clubs are reminded to make sure Registration and subscriptions for the 2012 player injury scheme are due to be completed and paid to Croke Park by March 31. As previously stated, a €600,000 rebate has been approved to be paid back to counties who were a net contributor to the injury scheme in 2011. A condition of qualification for this rebate is that 75% of clubs in a county must be registered and paid by March 31.

Féile Peile na nÓg 2012 was launched by Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise recently.
The launch was attended by over 300 boys and girls from local clubs and guests including Uachtarán Chumann Peile na mBan Pat Quill, Chairman of Comhairle Laighean Martin Skelly and members of the Laois and Offaly senior football teams and Ladies Football teams from both counties.
This year Féile Peile na nÓg will be hosted by Laois and Offaly for the first time on 22nd - 24th

The following Playing Rule changes which were passed at Congress on Saturday, April 14. These changes become operative from May 14 and are to be implemented in all competitions.
1. Football Only - "Square Ball" - This has been amended to allow a player enter the small rectangle once the final deliberate play of the ball has been made, i.e as soon as the player kicks, hand-passes, fist passes or deliberately flicks the ball into the small rectangle then the attacking player may enter. The rule is unchanged with regard to "Set Play" i.e. Free Kicks, Line Balls and 45s - in these instances players are not permitted to enter the small rectangle before the ball.
2. Hurling and Football - an additional Power
Research published recently, reveals that Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps are the most popular summer camps selected annually by Irish parents. 41 per cent of parents who plan to send their children to a summer camp say that they will opt for a Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camp this year, while 27 per cent of parents will opt for a soccer camp, with swimming (23 per cent) and rugby (10 per cent), selected as other popular options.
